Course Description This course covers the strategies for formulating and solving material and energy balance equations for chemical processes, which is the very foundation for developing core ability of chemical engineers - process design.

Enable students to determine all the process variables of chemical processes by introducing the following topics:
1. units and unit conversion,
2. processes and process variables,
3. material balances on non-reactive and reactive processes,
4. basic phase equilibrium, and
5. energy balances on non-reactive and reactive processes.

3.Proficiency of analyzing problems and identifying key points with rigorous logic.
