Course Description The course concentrates on Smart City Development, Zero-emission Planning and Low-carbon Transportation Models and Cases as well as the Technological Innovation to achieve it. It has two purposes: 1. to review and understand different modes of re-thinking design and technological innovation that motivate smart city and zero-emission plan in the field and the rationales for their use and 2. to develop creative, innovative, and productive synergies that help the public and private sectors boost their development towards smart city and zero-emission development.

Evaluation
All written work will receive a grade. The course expects all graduate students to maintain a score of B+ (87~89) average in all coursework. The instructor of this course has higher expectations and anticipates that course participants will be performing minimally at an A level. The instructor will determine the final grade through an evaluation of each student’s oral and written work, with the final assignment of the class (final paper) being the determining element.
