Course Description Addressing the urgent sustainability needs of society will necessitate the creation and implementation of innovative technologies. Biotechnology, empowered by recent breakthroughs in synthetic biology, aims to establish sustainable, biologically-driven pathways for the production of chemicals and materials, serving as alternatives to fossil-derived counterparts. This course will discuss current development of related approaches, and provide an avenue to gain a deeper understanding and responsiveness to the sustainability implications associated with future works, and actions.
