Course Description 開放教育嘗試拓展教育本質,將學習主導權交還學生,實踐課室中聚焦於思考能力開發的最大可能。開放教育平台,如大規模線上課程、社交媒體甚或新媒體等,搖身成為最佳跳板,帶領學生發現世界議題,更進一步發覺自己面對議題的真實聲音。課程鎖定聯合國永續發展目標(Sustainable Development Goals,簡稱 SDGs)所指出的全球議題,搭配階段性的開放式學習任務,進行對於自選焦點議題的初步認識、深入學習、個人反思。
Open education movement embraces the practical possibility of students managing their own learning process, in which digital applications have greatly assisted in paving the way ahead. Massive open online courses, social networking sites, and citizen media - these web-based channels have indeed brought the world closer to students. This course heightens special attention to the SDGs adopted in 2015 by the United Nations, upon which students learn to reflect with awareness and knowledge.

課程旨在建立學生全球永續發展共識,同步引導學生認識並活用廣義的開放教育平台,最終完成全學期階段性學習任務:(一)串流社交媒體.如 Facebook、Instagram 、Twitter 等,傾聽世界聲音;(二)參與大規模開放線上課程.如 Coursera、edX、FutureLearn 等,敞開國際視野;(三)善用新媒體發聲.包含 vlog、podcast 等多元樣貌的公民媒體(citizen media),參與世界共好。期望學生在得以自選主題及數位工具的開放條件下,於各個學習階段(平均每階段約 4 週)逐步建構多元素養,開展全球化的後設思考能力。
This course provides structured guidance on the development of global competence, from initial web-based investigation to planned actions in the immediate future. With heightened awareness of SDGs, the students are encouraged to explore gradual incorporation of digital tools, following a series of learning stages: (1) social networking for relevant topics and issues, (2) self-directed open learning for deep understanding, and (3) collaborative contribution as a citizen journalist. By the end of the semester, the students are expected to grow effective competence in balancing different perspectives on global issues, in communicating ideas with diverse audiences, as well as in proposing appropriate actions to reinforce the SDGs framework.
