Week Course Content
Week 1 1 Students who have completed two courses from the four core courses (Molecular & Cellular Approaches to Biotechnologies; Advanced Animal Biology; Advanced Plant Biology; and Agricultural Microbiology) and have chosen the thesis advisors are eligible to take this course starting from the 2nd year at the earliest.

2 This course is a 1 credit elective course. The maximum credits for each student to take are 6 credits.

3 The student needs to get the thesis advisor’s consent before taking this course.

4 The aim of this course is to study and discuss the research literatures related to the topics on agricultural biotechnology, in order to develop student’s analytical thinking. The student’s thesis advisor is responsible to assign journal papers for the student to read or assign related seminars for students to attend. The student needs to regularly submit summary reports of journal papers or seminars in written format or oral presentations, depending on the thesis advisor’s training design.

5 In the end of the semester, the student needs to submit a final report (written or oral) to the thesis advisor. The thesis advisor has to grade the student based on the final report (50%) and the regular assignments (50%) by using an evaluation form.

6 At the end of the semester, the student’s thesis advisor needs to submit the evaluation form with a final grade to MBAS office.
