Course Description | To introduce the emerging technologies and their applications in industries and business. *** IMPORTANT NOTE *** 1. This course is heavy loaded. You will have assignment to complete almost every week. 2. Assignment 1 and Assignment 2 will be issued on the first two weeks. 3. Students who are unable to complete Assignment 1 or Assignment 2 will be advised to drop out the course during the add-drop period. 4. Students who are not able to catch up the course schedule will be advised to drop even in the middle of the semester. *** THINK TWICE BEFORE ADDING THIS COURSE *** |

Course Objectives ================= 1. To discuss what is the meaning of “emerging technologies”. 2. To introduce the evolution & impacts of technologies. 3. To introduce some of the latest technologies for information and communication. 4. To introduce some of the latest technologies in artificial intelligence and machine learning. 5. To introduce some of the latest technologies for financial industry. 6. To introduce potential business applications of emerging technologies. 7. To discuss potential applications of emerging technologies. Outcomes ======== 1. Be able to introduce (to other people) what are emerging technologies and their potential business applications. 2. Be able to anticipate the future trend of technologies. 3. Be able to use some of these emerging technologies. 4. Be able to “write” readable essay. 5. Be able to “search” information efficiently. 6. Be able to “present” an idea logically. 7. Be able to “work” in a team efficiently. 8. Be able to communicate, at least in the class, by using simple English. 9. Be able to work under pressure. 10.
