Course Description This course will explore three principal topics on translation studies: (1) translated works and polysystem; (2) rewriting and manipulation; (3) feminist translation theory. Also, students will examine how translators/rewriters use translated works and film adaptations for social and ideological purposes.

This one‐semester course is designed to introduce key issues relating to translation studies. Students are expected to consolidate their essential knowledge of how translators/rewriters use translated works and film adaptations for social and ideological purposes in the light of translation theories.
