Course Description Freshman English is a one-year course of 4 credits, 2 credits for each semester. The course is conducted via lectures, lab sessions, and group activities. Students will be exposed to a variety of reading, listening, and speaking situations to improve their English skills. The contents include listening and oral communication practice, online materials, and reading and discussion of English articles.

The primary goal of this course is to develop the English reading competence of first-year undergraduate students. Upon completion of the course, students are expected to acquire: (1) the ability to understand English spoken in a range of professional, social, and cultural settings and (2) the ability to read and understand articles across various subjects. All students are required to prepare lessons before class.
