Polymers are everywhere! From plastics and fibers to biomedical implants, electronics, and even within our bodies. This course introduces key concepts in polymeric materials, including polymer classification and synthesis, crystallinity and glass transition, mechanical and thermal behavior, rheology, and basic processing techniques. Real-world examples will be used to connect fundamental concepts with everyday products and advanced technologies. The course will also include a 3D printing workshop and an industrial visit to a specialty polymer manufacturer, providing students with hands-on experience and exposure to industrial practice. By the end of the course, students will have developed a solid foundation in polymer science for further study in materials science and related fields.
