Course Description This course introduces the utilization of agricultural waste, focusing on the technical discussion of converting it into biomass energy and fertilizer. Including biomass gasification, liquefaction, application of biochar, etc. The course will have practical operations and experiments. The production of biochar will be led by Mr. Wu Gengdong from the Forestry Department. In this course, students are divided into groups to discuss and guide them step by step to formulate the outline of the plan. Through the interactive discussion between teachers and students, the plan is revised to achieve the goal of explaining doubts and deepening the course. In order to enable students to understand the reports of each group, this course includes individual participation questions and suggestions, as well as personal learning process and experience reports as assessments instead of examination assessments.

Based on the existing content knowledge, it is intended to provide students with interesting and in-depth research goals that they find on their own, and then propose plans and implement them. With the dual support of the Green Energy Research Office of the Forestry Department and the Crop Environment Research Office of the Department of Agronomy, it is expected that students will not only gain cross-field knowledge, but also participate in cross-field research. In order to increase the breadth and depth of knowledge application, students will be encouraged to form cross-departmental teams in groups to stimulate the integration of knowledge in different fields, which can be implemented in R&D and application.
