Course Description This course equips undergraduates with the terms and tactics to understand forms and contents of fiction so that they are able to express their thoughts fluently both in spoken and written forms. They, too, learn the rules of academic writing so as to prepare themselves for advanced studies.

The course aims to strengthen students’ speaking and writing abilities in articulating their views of literature. They will learn the tactics of essay writing and paper delivery for formal occasions such as conferences and seminars. Its ultimate goal is to prepare students for advanced literary studies.

Attendance Policies:
1. Arriving 5 minutes after the class starts is considered tardiness; arriving 20 minutes after the class begins is considered one absence.
2. For tardiness, one point is deducted from your final grade; for absence, five points are deducted from your final grade.
3. A make-up exam will only be given if you can justify your absence on the exam day.
4. All leaves must be proven with valid documents.
