Course Description This course provides a foundational exploration of the dynamic relationship between language, thought, and culture. Students will investigate core frameworks, including linguistic relativity and the ethnography of communication, to understand how language both shapes and is shaped by cultural practices, social identities, and ideologies. The course also examines language change, variation, and multilingualism within their broader social and cultural contexts.
