Course Description 本課程為語言中心針對大學部學生所設計的「專業學術英語」(English for Specific Academic Purposes)課程之一,目標在於幫助學習者強化英語實力,奠定修習EMI專業課程所需的語言基礎。授課內容涵蓋工程領域相關之主題文章閱讀、專業詞彙學習,並輔以溝通式學習任務,提升學習者之口語及書寫表達技巧,以促進語用能力與專業知識之結合。本課程適合英語程度相當於CEFR B1~B2者修習。
This course is one of the English for Specific Academic Purposes (ESAP) series designed by the Language Center for the undergraduate students of College of Engineering. The course is aimed to strengthen learners’ English communication skills needed for their EMI courses. Reading materials selected from the disciplines of engineering will be discussed in class, and domain-specific vocabulary commonly used in engineering will be introduced as well. Learners’ oral and written communicative abilities will be developed through task-based learning in small groups, with the purpose to help them express ideas and thoughts in English for their chosen fields of study. The course is suitable for those whose English proficiency is equivalent to B1~B2 on the CEFR scale.
