Course Description Combustion technologies are applied widely in many aspects in our life. It is the major way to supply energy and heat in industry as well as in house. Power plants, boilers, and stoves are some examples. It is also the major way to supply power in the transportation sector, and the final solution of waste management. However, the uncontrolled combustion is a disaster. Fire and explosion are extremes of combustion.
燃燒的應用十分廣汎,一方面是工業界及家庭獲得能源的主要方式,如發電機組,工業用鍋爐及家用瓦斯爐等;一方面是交通工具的主要能量來源,如汽機車,卡車,及飛機,輪船等的引擎;另一方面也是廢棄物的主要處理方式之一,如垃圾焚化爐。而失去控制的燃燒則是生活中的大災難,如火災,爆炸等。
本課程主要的內容是介紹基本的燃燒理論,並介紹燃燒在工程上的應用,包括工業用鍋爐,內燃機,燃氣渦輪機,垃圾焚化爐,火災,及燃燒污染控制等。

The major goal of this course is to introduce the basic theory of combustion, as well as the applications of combustion, including industrial boiler, internal combustion engine, gas turbine engine, incinerator, fire, and pollution control.
了解燃燒基本現象、燃燒機具的操作原理,有能力進行燃燒過程的分析計算和從事燃燒機具相關工程設計。
