Course Description (限國研學程二年級以上博班生選修. This course is only for TIGP-MBAS PhD students from the 2nd academic year.)
It is meant to promote research activities by taking advantage of the inspiration from the scientific talks. Students who are qualified to enroll the class need to fulfill the course requirement in order to gain one credit. This class will run continuously in each semester. Each year, many outstanding scientists are invited to deliver seminars in our institutes. This class is designed to encourage Ph.D. students to actively and flexibly attend these seminars and digest the information given by the speakers.

Week Course Content
Week 1 1. It is a 1-credit unit class. To enroll, student needs to obtain permission of your major professor or from a supporting professor.
2. Enrolled students need to participate at least 15 biological science related seminars on campus or at Academia Sinica, and submit at least 10 reports written in English pertaining to the seminar topics. Students are responsible to keep the list of dates (time), titles, speakers’ names and locations of the seminars attended. The list shall be submitted to class coordinator by the end of the semester.
3. For the contents in the report, describe
a. Take home message of the seminar,
b. The point(s) (concept, strategy or method) can be employed for your own research topic,
c. Or any other points requested by your major professor
Please spend at least 50% of effort on b.
The reports should be submitted to your major professor/supporting professor and the class coordinator as soon as possible for scoring.
4. Enrolled student’s major professor or supporting professor will be responsible to grade the report. The averaged score of the 10 reports will be the final score of the class for the student.

Enrolled student’s major professor or supporting professor will be responsible to grade the report. The averaged score of the 10 reports will be the final score of the class for the student.
