Course Description This course aims to improve students' overall English proficiency by emphasizing critical thinking and effective communication. It focuses on developing the four key language skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—while encouraging students to express their views confidently and analytically. Through the exploration of a variety of topics, students will strengthen their ability to evaluate new information and present their ideas clearly. Additionally, students will deliver an oral presentation based on assigned reading material, using collaboration, visual aids, and creative approaches to enhance their language skills.

Week Course Content
Week 1 Course overview: Icebreaker and introduction to the course syllabus
Week 2 Unit 1; Demonstrating reading text presenting through lectures; Divide into groups.
Week 3 Unit 1; Interpreting statements and making predictions; Group discussion sessions.
Week 4 Unit 2; Group presentation; Identifying main ideas, contextual clues, and text structure, as well as practicing skills such as making logical inferences, enhancing comprehension and interpretation, and providing supporting information or arguments.
Week 5 Unit 2 &quiz 1; TED Talk/listening practice; Practicing critical thinking: techniques for interpreting information and supporting arguments.
Week 6 Unit 3; Group presentation; Enhancing communicative skills: starting, sustaining and concluding discussions, along with agreeing, disagreeing, and/or seeking clarification.
Week 7 Unit 3; TED Talk/listening practice; Enhancing research skills and evaluating pros and cons.
Week 8 Midterm Examination
Week 9 Unit 4; Group presentation; Critically evaluating examples of cultural stereotyping after discussion sessions; asking critical questions.
Week 10 Unit 4; TED Talk/listening practice; Inferring meaning, applying ideas, and reflecting on own experience.

Evaluation
