Course Description The course aims to provide a foundation for understanding the complexities of English Language Teaching. The course will focus on important aspects of current language teaching methodology, including the following topics: (1) the contexts of ELT; (2) principles of syllabus and lesson design; (3) classroom processes: roles of teachers and students, the dynamics of interaction within the classroom, methods of questioning, and the provision of feedback; (4) resources in ELT: materials design, adaptation and evaluation, and the use of information technology. By engaging in interactive lectures and participating in group and class discussions, students will gain insights into matters concerning both the theory and practice of English learning and teaching.
