Course Description	Promotion video: https://youtu.be/-Haq1pQQSCY This is a distance education class, which means our classes and work will be totally online. Lectures are videos you can watch from home. Quizzes are online. Writing assignments are online, and all the teacher feedback is online. The group component of this class (Class Type A) is to practice presentations (two times), where groups act as company employees making presentations in English. Practice presentations are video recorded in the NCHU Marketing Department Media Lab (room 820 in the Social Science & Management building on campus). Class Type B has NO group work and more writing assignments and quizzes. This all means you need to be independent and motivated. The benefit is you complete work on your own time at your own convenience. You need to be ready to perform all tasks online. There is no midterm or final exams.

Research Writing Skill, APA/MLA Reference Styles, Presentation Skills, Business Cloud Technologies The most important goal is to introduce you to the fundamentals of research writing and presentation. We will emphasize the modern use of online activities and use of cloud technologies. Research writing communication through written assignments with lots of feedback is the main emphasis, preparing students for development of core skills useful in the academic and job market. The second goal is to actually practice or even start your thesis writing. In this class, you can begin writing your thesis and get feedback from me through our online system QRP (Quick Research Papers). The third goal is to practice presentation skills. We video record presentations in our marketing lab. This is the BEST way to actually improve! Evaluation
Assessment You can choose if you want to do a presentation or not. Presentations are in groups, and we have three of them, in my marketing lab, where we record you on video. Some people, however, cannot come to campus, or prefer a totally online class. For them, they can choose to NOT have any presentations, but they have more writing practice and online quizzes. Here are the two methods for assignments and grades for this class this year. Check the class schedule for due dates and times. Prof. Warden will also be sending you a weekly update email to tell you what is coming up in the next week. Quick Research Papers (QRP) Cloud Writing Assignments: Research writing, in English, is individually completed and online. Feedback from Prof. Warden include an emphasis on both English errors and content. Practice Presentations: Groups, no more than three students in a group, will make two presentations in the video lab. A presentation must be no longer than five minutes.
