Course Description This course examines social changes through the medium of movies. Topics for this course include race, social classes, immigration, family, ideology, authority, war, media and AI. Using movies analysis, this course will examine how social change has been represented on screen. Critical analysis of movies should account for the social context where it was mad. Every week we introduce one issue through movies and discuss how movies play in the understanding of our life.

Evaluation
The top of the grading scale is capped at 100.
The compositions are graded accordingly.
Attitude in class (15 percent of total grade)
The first assignment (25 percent of total grade)
The second assignment (25 percent of total grade)
The third assignment (25 percent of total grade)
Report after self-directed learning (10 percent of total grade)
A student can make any grade item worth extra credit by submitting additional film criticism.
A student who misses class is expected to present an excuse for every absence by email in two weeks or 10 points deducted off total grade for every absence.
