Course Description 課程前段以各微生物分類群(例如:細菌、古生菌、真菌、病毒等)為單元,依序逐類介紹各分類群之基礎生物學。中段則以相關之生物學領域為單元(例如:基因體、演化、生理、生態、分子遺傳等),介紹微生物學研究之課題。後段則著重於微生物學在生物科技之應用。
The objective of this course is to introduce the principles and the biotechnology application of microbiology. In the first part, the course is organized according to the taxonomic groups (e.g., bacteria, archaea, fungi, viruses, etc), and focuses on the general biology of each group. In the second part, different sub-fields of biology (e.g., genomics, evolution, physiology, ecology, molecular genetics, etc) related to microbiology research are discussed in details. The third part of this course emphasizes on the biotechnology applications of microbiology.
