Course Description 以材料科學的觀點來討論硬碟各部份之材料選用與工作原理,包含巨磁阻讀頭及穿隧磁阻讀頭之原理介紹,感應式寫頭原理及材料瓶頸之介紹,記錄媒體部份則由傳統之水平垂直記錄媒體進而探討未來之能量輔助記錄媒體與圖案化記錄媒體,對於耐磨耗非晶碳層與高分子潤滑層也有所探討.

本課程目標使學生了解硬碟(hard disk drive)之整體架構與各部份元件之原理與功能,包含了讀寫頭及記錄媒體之原理及未來展望,學生修習此課後可了解磁性材料於記錄儲存元件之應用亦可和其它儲存元件相互比較.
