NCHU Course Outline
Course Name (中) 生物材料與血管新生(8218)
(Eng.) Biomaterials and Angiogenesis
Offering Dept Graduate Institute of Biomedical Engineering
Course Type Elective Credits 3 Teacher Bill Cheng
Department Graduate Institute of Biomedical EngineeringPh.D Language English Semester 2024-FALL
Course Description This course is suitable for those who has NO background in biology but wish to learn how to apply medicine in designing a biomedical material and/or device.
(這門課很適合沒有生物背景的學生, 也適合英語不強的學生)

Blood vessel establishments continue to be a dominant factor in tissue engineering and regeneration, as well as in diseases pathogenesis. Examples in cancer biology and heart development will be used to demonstrate the significance and underlying mechanism of angiogenesis. Additionally, the roles of extracellular matrix proteins in angiogenesis, and steps in developing anti- and pro-angiogenic biomaterials will also be discussed.
