Course Description This course introduces students to the fundamental concepts and methods of sociolinguistics, exploring how language varies and functions across different social contexts. The students will examine the complex social factors that influence language patterns, variation, and use, and gain an understanding of the profound relationship between language and human social life.

Evaluation
Assessment includes pop quizzes and problem sets, a midterm exam, and a final exam.
The percentage of each category will be as follows.
