Course Description This course deals with western fiction as an essential key to understand fiction as a genre in western literary world.
There are weekly topics/themes that will be lectured by teacher and discussed by students later in class. To follow up the lectures and gain an in-depth understanding of each topic/theme, students will be required to read a related novel before each discussion.

Our aim is to possess a comprehensive knowledge of the great body of fiction written in the western world, thus, to enrich our understanding of its culture and history of idea. That is, in our selected readings and discussion, we will be concerned with individual thought and work in terms of the whole Western cultural context.
