Course Description Course Objectives
 To introduce students to the theories and practices of professional presentations, including structure, rhetorical strategies, audience engagement, and multimodal communication.
 To analyze and apply concepts of storytelling, persuasion, and performance to professional and academic presentations.
 To strengthen students’ ability to design and deliver effective presentations by integrating visual, vocal, and bodily communication.
 To enhance students’ critical awareness of presentation genres across academic, professional, and intercultural contexts.
 To provide students with opportunities to create, perform, and reflect on their own presentations, demonstrating mastery of both content knowledge and delivery skills.
 To provide an English-Medium Instruction (EMI) learning environment in which students acquire knowledge and skills in professional presentation, communication strategies, and performance, with English serving as the medium of delivery and assessment.

 Presentations as performance: theories of embodiment and stage presence
 Vocal techniques and voice training for effective communication
 The body as a communicative tool: gesture, posture, and movement

 Peer review and reflective practice in professional communication

How the Class Will Be Conducted
1. This course will run as a workshop-based seminar in which students critically engage with theories and practices of presentation design and delivery.
2. Each week introduces 1-2 key themes
3. Students analyze model presentations, discuss strategies, and apply concepts in practice.
4. Handouts and readings provide theoretical and practical frameworks in English.
5. Students progressively build toward their own professional presentation project, which will be delivered at the midterm and final stages.
6. Assessment is based on content knowledge, application of strategies, and delivery effectiveness.

By the end of this course, students will be able to:
1.Analyze professional presentations and identify the rhetorical, visual, and performance strategies used to engage audiences.
2. Design presentation content that integrates storytelling, persuasion, and multimodal elements (visuals, body, and voice).
3.Demonstrate effective delivery skills, including vocal presence, body language, and audience interaction, in professional and academic contexts.
4.Apply theories of communication and performance to the planning and execution of individual presentations.
5.Critically reflect on their own and peers’ presentations to improve strategic communication skills.
6.Present a professional-level project, showing mastery of presentation design, rhetorical strategies, and performance techniques.
