Course Description Electron Microscopy is one of the state-of-the-art instruments in materials characterization. It provides not only imaging but also atomic structure of materials. By adding an appropriate accessary, it can reveal chemical, electronic and oxidation states of the specimens. It has become an essential tool in micro-characterization. This course will carry out a systematical discussion of the operation principles of various electron microscopy and its application in advanced materials research.
