Course Description This course provides systematic practice through dialogues, short talks, and extended passages. Students will train to listen at natural speed, identify main ideas and details, recognize implied meaning, and develop strategies for handling unfamiliar vocabulary. Dictation exercises improve accuracy in spelling and grammar, while note-taking and summarizing skills prepare students for academic and professional listening situations.

Week 2 Unit 2 – Detailed Listening, vocabulary review & Dictation Practice
Week 3 Units 3–4 – Long Dialogue Comprehension: Summarizing, note-taking, main idea vs. details.
Week 4 Review & Unit 5 – Real-life Listening: Reinforce skills, gist + detail practice.
Week 5 Units 6–7 – Vocabulary in Context: Dictation plus vocabulary recycling
Week 6 Units 8–9 – Inference & Speaker Attitude: Tone, intention, implied meaning
Week 7 Unit 10 – Academic Listening Strategies: Lectures/explanations; note-taking
Week 8 Unit 11 – Extended Listening: Summarizing long passages, key points vs. details

Instruction:
You will take part in a role-playing activity where you plan and conduct a simulated interview. Work with a partner or in small groups to prepare your questions and responses. Make sure to stay in character and use appropriate language for a formal or semi-formal interview setting.
