Course Description This course is designed to enhance students' knowledge and understanding of modern science fiction, with a special emphasis on its depiction of artificial intelligence (AI). Students will read selected SF novels and watch SF movies. By the end of the semester, students are expected to have the ability to write a solid research paper on one of these novels or movies.

The objective of this course is to increase students’ knowledge and understanding of modern science fiction and SF movies. Besides, students will have to learn some theories or ideas, such as utopia, dystopia, cyborg, cyberpunk, the posthuman, etc. which are helpful for the understanding and analysis of modern science fiction and SF movies.
