NCHU Course Outline
Course Name (中) 材料力學(2302)
(Eng.) Mechanics of Materials
Offering Dept Department of Mechanical Engineering
Course Type Required Credits 3 Teacher CHUNG-HAN WU
Department Department of Mechanical Engineering/Undergraduate Language English Semester 2026-FALL
Course Description This course focuses on studying the behavior of solid materials under various types of loading conditions encountered in engineering practices. In Mechanics of Materials, we examine the internal stresses and deformations that occur within solid bodies when subjected to external loads. By utilizing the physical properties of materials alongside theoretical concepts, students will learn to derive formulas and equations to predict mechanical behavior. This knowledge will be applied to the analysis and design of fundamental mechanical components and structural elements commonly found in engineering applications.
