Course Description |
This course is coordinated with a lab. There are two parts included: the first part comprising the history, concepts, principles, nomenclature of plant taxonomy and characters of plant morphology; the second part introducing plant diversity based on the level of ‘family’.
There are 4-5 field trips within a semester to learn local flora and train the ability for identifying plants. Various activities, including botanists, botanic gardens, ‘plant shows’ of subclasses, are mingled with lectures. Students are asked to collect plant samples to make high quality specimens with proper herbarium labels. |
