有機化學是許多專業課程的基礎,可學習到碳氫化合物的分類及各類化合物的命名及結構特性等基礎概念,進一步了解化合物的反應性及實用性,及與其它化合物之間的關聯性。可以學習化合物的反應、合成、分析方法與反應機構的推導。

教學方式以黑板或白板進行教學及解釋,並利用小組討論課程及習題讓學生能有深一層的了解。成績評量則為點名(20%), 期中考(40%, Ch3-Ch6), 期末考(40%, Ch7-Ch10)。
