Course Description	生物技術指利用生物體來生產有用的物質或改進製成，改良生物的特性，以降低成本及創新物種的科學技術。根據不同的工具和應用，它往往與生物工程和生物醫學工程的領域重疊。本課程將以有趣且淺顯易懂的教學方式，結合授課、影片欣賞、分組討論、實際案例，一步步帶領一般非生物相關科系的同學深入現代生物醫學研究領域，讓艱深的生物科技知識及專有名詞融入日常生活的教育，並引領同學了解生物醫學知識在日常活與醫療保健等之應用，並於課程中帶入人文教育與醫學倫理探討。 Biotechnology refers to the application of living organisms, cells, or biological systems to produce useful substances, improve production processes, and enhance biological characteristics. These technologies can help reduce production costs and facilitate the development of new biological products and improved organisms. Owing to its diverse tools and applications, biotechnology often overlaps with the fields of biological engineering and biomedical engineering. This course adopts an engaging and accessible teaching approach that combines lectures, educational videos, group discussions, and real-world case studies. It is designed to gradually introduce students from non-biological backgrounds to the field of modern biomedical research. By connecting complex biotechnology concepts and technical terminology with everyday experiences, the course helps students understand how biomedical knowledge can be applied to daily life, healthcare, and medical practice. In addition, topics related to the humanities and medical ethics are incorporated into the course to encourage students to consider the social and ethical implications of advances in biotechnology and medicine.
