Course Description Mechanics of Material is a course about how typical strcuture reacts to external forces without movement. Students should learn Statics (Applied Mechanics) first and know how to calculate equilibrium problems of objects at rest subjected to external forces, and then they would know now to estimate the internal forces in this course.

Introduce types of external forces, typical structures in mechanics, and how to evaluate the internal forces in those structures under the certain types of external forces.
1.Integrating interdisciplinary knowledge and techniques, and efficiently executing professional business.
2.Abilities of communication and coordination, and building-up attitudes for teamwork.
3.Developing independent thinking and problem-solving skills.
4.Raising students’ awareness of social responsibility and the importance of soil and water conservation.
