Course Description This course aims to understand basic concepts in astronomy and astrophysics, especially focusing on different types of explosions in the Universe. This is a new field in astronomy, called 'time-domain' astronomy because their brightness dramatically changes as time goes by. This course will include wide spectra in this field ranging from traditional works on nova and supernova to cutting edges such as kilonova and fast radio bursts. It would be helpful if students have a physics backgroud, although the physics background is not required to take this course.

The course obectives will include an introduction to astronomy and astrophysics, stellar physics, and various explosions including nova, kilonova, supernova, gamma-ray bursts, fast radio bursts, their cosmological usage, and big Bang. This course does not go into the details of each content but focuses on the essences of the topics.
