Course Description Agribusiness Management focuses on strategic management decision making tools and problem solving techniques required by agribusiness managers. The learning environment will be accentuated by the use of case studies, other analyses and out-of-class assignments using examples in the food and fiber value chain. A group project will provide students with an opportunity for a first-hand experience doing economic, marketing, and financial, and strategic analysis of an actual agribusiness situation.


Students should have completed Principles of Economics I and II as course prerequisites.
If you are sophomore student and didn't meet the requirements, you may drop the class.

The overall goal of this course is to help prepare you for a transition to a management or marketing career emphasizing decision making, communication, leadership, and teamwork. Toward that end, the objectives of this course are to:

A. integrate and apply your knowledge of economics, agricultural economics, management, marketing, finance/accounting and decision analysis.
B. teach you to formulate, analyze, select, implement and justify a particular management strategy.
C. increase your knowledge of the depth and complexity of the global food and fiber system.
D. enhance your business communication skills (written and oral).
