Course Name (中) 有機化學實驗(1179)
(Eng.) Organic Chemistry Lab.
Offering Dept Department of Chemistry
Course Type Required Credits 1 Teacher Cheng-Kun Lin
Department Department of Life Sciences/Undergraduate Language English Semester 2026-SPRING
Course Description Through the design of the organic chemistry laboratory course, students are encouraged to integrate hands-on experimentation with the theoretical knowledge acquired in organic chemistry. Although the chemicals used in these experiments generally have low toxicity, prolonged exposure can still pose health risks. Therefore, the course also aims to raise students’ awareness of the potential hazards and toxicological effects of the reagents involved.
In addition to chemical toxicity, the proper handling of strong acids and bases used during experiments is also emphasized. The curriculum is designed to teach students the correct and safe operational procedures to meet safety standards. Furthermore, by addressing the treatment and disposal of chemical waste, students are guided to understand that science and environmental responsibility can coexist harmoniously.
