Course Description This course aims to help students apply their existing knowledge and competencies across a broad spectrum of situations and to improve their language skills for more efficient communication. It enhances college students’ English proficiency and communicative competence through intensive and extensive readings, listening, in-class tasks, role-playing and group discussions, and oral presentations. Students will learn as how to build speaking confidence and participate in a variety of oral communication activities. They are encouraged to identify problems, collect relevant information, and express their ideas in interactive contexts. Academic communication and expression skills will be covered, including effective questioning and how to give and receive feedback.

Evaluation
The grade will be based on quizzes, assignments, group presentations and class participation, and one final exam. The percentage of each category will be as follows.
30%: Quizzes
30%: Oral Presentations and Assignments
25%: Final Exam
15%: English Proficiency Tests (GEPT 10% & EnglishScore 5%)
