| The aim of this course is to develop the English communicative competence of first-year undergraduate students (non-English majors). Upon completion of the course, students are expected to acquire: (1) useful mechanics of English words (2) the ability to comprehend a text by using important reading skills (3) the ability to understand English spoken in a range of academic, professional and social settings; (4) the ability to briefly express an opinion in English; and (5) the test-taking strategies of various English proficiency tests. |
