| 課程簡述 | News articles/videos on a variety of current affairs will be discussed in class including wars, climate, economy, health and so on. Ss are expected to read/watch the news before class and share their perspectives in class. | ||||||||

| Students should learn to watch a variety of news videos, read a wide range of news articles, do further research on the issue of interest while remaining sensible regarding the information they have compiled, and thus share their views on the weekly news. |

| 1. class participation (50%) 2. midterm--written test on news voca. (20%) 3. final--30-min debate on world issues (30%) 4. You are allowed to be absent for 6 hours at most for any reasons this semester. Being late for over 20 min/leaving 20 min early is seen as absenteeism. If you’re absent for 7 hours, 7 points will be deducted from the semester score. If you’re absent for 8 hours, 10 points will be deducted from the semester score. If you’re absent for 9 hours, 15 points will be deducted from the semester score. If you’re absent for 10 hours, 20 points will be deducted from the semester score, and so on. |
