課程簡述 　　社會是由人們所組成，但人又深受社會之影響，此種人與社會間的關係往往深刻影響歷史之發展。中國社會歷史的發展深深影響東亞各地，縱使到今日依然在許多層面可以看到過去社會的痕跡。因此，認識中國社會史不僅是了解過去之發展，更是理解今日社會的關鍵。需要注意本課程之社會史，主要著重於社會層面之課題，關心個人與群體間之互動。
　　本課程以社會結構、社會力量、家族、社會組織、家庭等五個面向為核心，依時序從史前時代講述至明、清時代。在講述這些面向的同時，另會涉及土地、法律、信仰等不同課題。透過如此講解方式，希冀協助學生認識中國社會的演變與其特質。
　　本課程係針對歷史學系所設計，期許學生在修習本課程之後，學生能夠具備探究史料背後意義的能力，並大幅強化運用各種社會科學理論之能力，這對於學生日後之課程學習、獨立研究或從事相關文化創意產業時都能產生助益。

　　Society is formed by people, yet people are also under the influence of the Society. The relationship between people and Society does have deep impact on the development of history. Throughout history, East Asia is heavily influenced by the development of Chinese society. The mark of history can still be easily seemed in our daily life. Thus, learning Chinese Social History is not only about to understand the development in the past, but it’s also the key to know where we are today. You need to know the “Social History” in this course is mainly focused on the social level issue, and the interaction between individual and group.
　　This course will provide students a picture of Chinese society from aspects like social structure, social power, family, social organization, and household. These aspects will be taught in timely manner from prehistoric age to the Qing dynasty. Students are expected to learn the change and characteristic of Chinese society.
　　This course is designed for students from the Department of History. You will be expected to have the following abilities over this course: 1. The ability to discuss the meaning behind historical sources. 2. The ability to employ social science theories in your own research. These abilities will be helpful in your future studies, researches, or professional works in cultural creative industries.

　　本課程之目標，旨在希望學生透過瞭解中國社會之特質，強化學生史學研究之能力，在分析社會史之同時增加對社會的關懷。
　　在探究中國社會史並學習各種社會科學理論時，當有助於發展學生之科技應用能力，並且增加對國際重要課題的關注等。

The objectives of this course are as follows: 1. Strengthen students’ history research abilities by learning the feature of Chinese society. And to increase their heed on the society.
　　2. Improve students’ skill of employing technology in the process of learning social science theories. And increase their attention on important international topics.
