課程簡述 This curriculum is mainly to understand the basic soil physical properties, processes, and the relative principle/equations for modeling and forecasting. Along with the theoretical understanding, this class also provides students with the skillsets of implementing the field measurement techniques (including the state-of-the-art sensing technology and approaches) to monitor, analyze, and model the mass and energy transport through soils (e.g., water, heat, solute, and gas transport). Also, these soil physical variables are the fundamental knowledge for advancing digital agriculture for optimizing field management. This course will address the application in agronomy (e.g., food security) and environmental science (e.g. climate change) by the end of each lecture, which can be implemented in the final project.
