Evaluation
1. Weekly pre-class quizzes are conducted to evaluate students’ understanding of the prior lesson, followed by supplementary explanations as needed (20%).
2. Class participation: involvement in Q&A and group discussions. (10%)
3. Every student shall select one journal paper regarding to this course and present it in the class for 30 minutes in the end of the semester (40%). Students are required to submit a mid-semester report covering the background knowledge, principles, and potential applications of the experimental techniques used in the paper (30%).
Textbook & other References
All materials are adapted from published paper in recent years. The journals include Nature, Science, Nature Biotechnology, Nature Methods, Nature Protocol, Current Opinion of Biotechnology, etc.
