Course Description This course aims to provide graduate students with the knowledge and techniques for writing an academic research paper. It includes an introduction to academic English and covers the framework of each part of an academic paper.

Evaluation
1. Class Presentation 60%
2. Class Participation 10%
3. Attendance 30%
Attendance starts at 100 points. One, two, and three absences result in scores of 90, 80, and 70 points, respectively; four or more absences receive 0 points. Being late or leaving early by up to 30 minutes results in a 2-point deduction, while more than 30 minutes is counted as an absence.
Only documented medical leave, official leave, bereavement leave, menstrual leave, and mental health leave are excused and will not be counted as absences (documentation is not required for menstrual or mental health leave). All other leave, including travel-related personal leave, will be treated as an absence.
