Course Description 荀子為繼孟子之後儒門中重要之思想家，雖因主張「性惡」而受後儒批評，然終不失為大儒。本課程擬探討荀子之宇宙觀、人性論、認識論，及其對學習、修身、文化、政治等各方面之看法與主張；透過重要篇章之閱讀與分析，可以瞭解荀子思想之大要，進而尋其脈絡，以通達全書之旨。

本課程旨在透過《荀子》原典之閱讀，瞭解荀子當時所面對的時代問題，因其問題意識所提出的觀念主張，進而全盤理解荀子之思想體系與理論架構，以及言說論辯之方法，並說明其思想之價值與地位。
