課程簡述 This course aims to strengthen students’ English foundations in order to facilitate their university-level study. The core focus of this course is on consolidating students’ proficiency in English writing. Students will be given a preliminary understanding of the main features of a paragraph, topic sentence, supporting sentence, and concluding sentence. Primary modes of paragraph writing, including definition, process, descriptive, opinion, and narrative paragraphs, will be introduced through an assortment of model paragraphs. Based on this illumination of the essential framework of paragraph writing, students will reinforce their competence in English writing via carrying out a specific writing task, in which they will be oriented through a process of original writing practice starting from outlining, drafting, revision, to the completion and presentation of the final version of their work.
本課程主要目的在於加強學生既有的英語能力基礎,輔助學生在大學階段的課程學習。課程的核心焦點為強化學生的英語寫作能力,從課程中學生能初步瞭解段落架構、主題句、主題延展與段落結束句型的主要書寫特點;段落書寫的主要類型,包含定義解釋、過程敘述、描述性、觀點闡述和敘事等型態,也將透過多元主題的段落範文閱讀與分析介紹給學生。以學生對於段落書寫特點及類型的瞭解為基礎,課程進一步引導學生進行實際書寫過程的練習,從大綱規劃、初稿撰寫、文稿修訂至完成並呈現最後版本的書寫成果等階段當中增進英語寫作能力。

Students are expected to strengthen their proficiency in English writing by means of comprehending the fundamental organization of paragraph writing, observing the distinctive features that characterize primary modes of paragraph writing, and putting the acquired knowledge of paragraph writing into practice.
本課程目標主要希望透過瞭解段落寫作的基本架構,觀察主要段落書寫類型的特點,並且進行實際的段落寫作練習等三方面來增進學生的英語寫作能力。
