| 課程簡述 | The basic design of this course, different from the other English courses offered by the department, is twofold: one focuses on its emphasis on the strengthened training in how to use precisely the English language in work as well as in real life, the other lies in its theme-course style─the instructor chooses whatever topic s/he considers suitable for the purpose of the course.In principle, the ultimate teaching goal of the training of the four-skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities,is set for the high-intermediate English level and above. 有別於本系其他英語聽、說、讀、寫基本能力訓練課程，本課程主要強調職場及生活英文語言能力實際運用之強化訓練。本課程之另一特色為主題式教學，每學期課程實際授課內容將依授課教師教學內容而有所不同。原則上，聽、說、讀、寫四項英文實用能力將以達到全民英檢中高級以上能力之設定標準為教學目標。 |

| There are three teaching goals for this practical English course: 1. Improve students’English ability to the high-intermediate English level and above. 2. Used as an English preparatory course for students seeking job. 3. Used as a real life English improving course. 本課程設置之教學目標如下： 一、提昇學生實用英文能力至全民英檢中高級或同等級英文測驗以上。 二、作為學生進入職場前實用英文知識之準備課程。 三、作為英文能力仍須提昇同學之補強課程。 |

| 本課程授課內容主要涵蓋實用英文聽、說、讀、寫四項基本語言能力之加強訓練，為主題式課程，每次開課課程內容依授課教師強調主題而有所不同，但目標皆為強化訓練學生職場及生活英文語言能力並以通過全民英檢中高級以上或同等級托福iBT為目標。如是，以下各項全民英檢高級能力指標亦為本課程訓練能力指標(以下引用財團法人語言訓練測驗中心檢定測驗之分項能力說明)： 一、聽的方面： 聽力部份將訓練學生聽力程度能在日常生活情境中，聽懂各類主題的談話、辯論、演講、報導、及節目等。在工作情境中，參與業務會議或談判時，能聽懂報告及討論的內容。 二、說的方面： 口說部份將訓練學生口語程度能在日常生活情境中，對於各類主題皆能流暢地表達看法、參與討論，能在一般會議或專業研討會中報告或發表意見等。 三、 讀的方面： 閱讀部份將訓練學生能閱讀各類不同主題、體裁的文章，包括報章雜誌、文學作品、專業期刊、學術著作及文獻等。 四、寫的方面： 寫作部份將訓練學生能寫一般及專業性摘要、報告、論文、新聞報導等，可翻譯一般書籍及新聞等。對於各類主題皆能通順地，並作深入探討。 The subject matter of the course in this semester will be the learning of avoiding easily-made errors in written English, intended for those who are interested in improving their written English or are simply interested in improving their general English ability. 本學年上學期實用英文(一)主題：英文寫作容易犯錯句500之1-250句學習 Fall 2018 Tentative Syllabus: September 12: Course Objectives and Introduction, assignment: sentences 1-10 19: quiz # 1 (1-10), assignment: sentences 11-25 26: quiz # 2 (11-25), assignment: sentences 26-40 3: quiz # 3 (26-40), assignment: sentences 41-55 October 10: Holiday (no class) 17: quiz # 4 (41-55), assignment: sentences 56-70 24: quiz # 5 (56-70), assignment: sentences 71-90 31: quiz # 6 (71-90), assignment: sentences 91-110 November 7: quiz # 7 (91-110), assignment: sentences 111-130 14: Midterm (1-110) 21: quiz # 8 (111-130), assignment: sentences 131-150 28: quiz # 9 (131-150), assignment: sentences 151-170 December 5: quiz # 10 (151-170), assignment: sentences 171-190 12: quiz # 11 (171-190), assignment: sentences 191-210 19: quiz # 12 (191-210), assignment: sentences 211-230 26: quiz # 13 (211-230), assignment: sentences 231-250 January 2: Final exam (111-250) 9: Course Grade Reports |
