| 課程簡述 | 作為崛起中的世界新興區域，一方面既是第三世界發展中國家的經濟成就楷模（尤其是日本模式與亞洲四小龍），同時也有人以「東亞世紀」來預言下一個新世紀的發展，因此東亞地區的過去、現在與未來便成為許多人關注的焦點。更甚者，台灣既屬於東亞區域國家的一份子，自然也應對所處的週遭環境多一份深刻的認知。 | ||||||||

| 我們希望特別是對東亞政治與經濟相關發展概況，給予更深遠且寬廣的觀察，除希望帶領學生瞭解工業革命與帝國主義對此區域的影響外，也由此角度進一步檢視東亞如何由落後走向繁榮。當然，除討論正面的發展優勢外，我們也試圖從反向來思考觀察，對於可能制約東亞未來發展的各種隱憂作一次通盤的檢討。 |
