課程簡述 1. This is a 3-credit hour, face-to-face and distant-learning hybrid course.
2. It is also a teaching collaborating course operated by both NCHU and Texas A&M University (TAMU), USA.
3. In this course, we will :(1) learn fundamental knowledge, concepts, and topics regarding Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs); (2) study case studies in various aspects, such as implementation of the SDGs ,agricultural resilience ,organic/eco-friendly farming, rural empowerment, agriculture leaderships; (3) practice skills related to leadership development and communication.
4. Our goal is to inform and exchange views. For each topic, your objectives are to understand the fundamental problems and potentials of each situation and to develop effective strategies when acting as a leader.
5. At the onset, the instructor will work with students to learn implications as an agricultural leader, and to develop their final projects as professional practicum.
6. Students are expected learn the framework on conducting an integrated, institutional assessment (e.g., NGO) based on his/her choice regarding the efficacy of the organization and/or its programs.

This course is designed :
(1)To present trends and increasing power of NGOs relating to natural resource management, agricultural resilience and/or sustainable
development;
(2)To help students gain in-depth understanding of the organizational structures, functions, planning and management processes of environmental
NGOs;
(3) To provide students with real world exposures and to help cultivate students' technical skills and leadership qualities for possible professional careers.

1. In-class or Online Discussion and participation:20 %
2. NCHU-TAMU co-teaching panel participation: 15 % (part of evaluation will be done by TAMU faculty).
3. Assignments: 40 %
4. Final project development: 25 % (Group: 15%,Individual: 10%)
