課程簡述 The pathogenic microbials, including Bacillus spp., fungi, NPV, and nematodes, will be introduced in this course. The methodology and techniques regarding to the mass production and application also be described with case studies. The formulation of microbial insecticide and genetic modification technique could be instructed. Hopefully, all the students can enjoy all the lectures and practice during this semester. In future, they could find the usefulness what learned in this class.

Let students understand the mechanism and pathogenecity of insect-borne microbials. How to produce the entomopathogenic microbials and how to use them in the right way for effectively and safely control agricultural pests.

第5週 MOA and application of bacterial pathogens infected insects.

第7週 Factors affect the effectiveness and persistence of microbial pesticides.

第8週 Mass-production and quality control of entomopathogens.
Improvement of pathogenicity with Genetic Modification Technique.
第9週 Formulation and storage conditions of entomopathogens
第10週 How to use entomopathogens correctly? (recommended methods)
Counting the microbials and calculate the mortality or LC50.
第11週 Using entomopathogens within an IPM program. (case-review: Fall armyworm)
第12週 Using entomopathogens within an IPM program.(case-review:stink bug)
第13週 Using entomopathogens within an IPM program. (case-review: beetle)
第14週 How to precisely evaluate the control efficacy of microbial agents?
Counting the microbials and calculate the mortality or LC50.
