| 1.Surgical considerations, farm animal anesthesia (2hrs) 2.Suture materials, principles of knot tying, ligatures, suture patterns (2hrs) 3.Surgery of the digestive system: principles of flank laparotomy, rumenotomy, (2hrs) 4.Surgery of the digestive system: rumenostomy or ruminal fistulation, (2hrs) 5.Surgery of the digestive system: Abomasal displacement and right-flank omentopexy (2hrs) 6.Farm practice (2hrs) 7.Surgery of the reproductive system: Retention suturing of the bovine vulva (Buhner’s method and Flessa method) (2hrs) 8.Surgery of the reproductive system: Surgery of the perineum (2hrs) 9.Mid-term exam (2hrs) 10.Surgery of the reproductive system: Ovariectomy and Cesarean section (2hrs) 11.Surgery in the calves: Feeding and management of the calves (2hrs) 12.Surgery in the calves: umbilical Herniorrhaphy, (2hrs) 13.Surgery in the calves: Superficial & deep digital flexor tenotomy (2hrs) 14.Ocular surgery: Squamous cell carcinoma of the third eyelid, orbital exenteration (2hrs) 15.Teat surgery: Repair of teat laceration, Surgery for treating teat stenosis (2hrs) 16.Miscellaneous surgical techniques: Calf Castration, cosmetic dehorning (2hrs) 17.Miscellaneous surgical techniques: Digit amputation (2hrs) 18.Final exam (2hrs) |
